The Random is a rotating panelist slot on The Chris Gethard Show. They are usually selected as a random person who has no connection to any existing cast members on the show. Randoms last for 15 episodes before a new Random is chosen.

The concept of The Random began with the first Random, Random Jean. Jean randomly called into the show to ask what it was about during their second episode. Chris Gethard invited her to come down to the studio and hang out with them on air, even offering to pay for her cab. Jean showed up and was offered a regular position on TCGS, which she accepted.[1] Jean eventually had to leave after 15 episodes, leading Gethard to decree that henceforth TCGS would choose a new Random every 15 episodes.[2]
